Weight: "Shipping" is the box weight from the store's product feed, packaging included, not the weight of the item. "Item" is the weight written on the product page. Dimensions, capacity and warranty are short excerpts of the product page text; "Not listed" means the page we read did not state it.
Brand "not listed" on some Fitness Depot rows: the store's feed names Fitness Depot itself as the vendor, so the maker is only what the product name says.
How to choose
A power rack is a four-post cage with safety bars; it is what lets you squat and bench alone. Every rack in this table is a cage of that kind; the name says so. Start with height, because it is the measure most basements fail: the Zenith Power Rack 2.0 comes in 90" or 78", and the Personal Series Power Rack 2.0 in 85" or 77". You need a few inches above the pull-up bar, more if you plan to do pull-ups.
Next, the depth and width. They decide whether a bench fits inside and whether you can walk the bar out. The dimension column gives them where the page did; the MyRack Modular Power Rack lists the inside size (50" deep by 40" wide).
Then the load rating. Two pages state one: 700 lb for the Personal Series Power Rack 2.0, and for the Inspire Power Rack FPC1, Full Cage, 700 lb (drop test on safeties, spotters, J-hooks); user on dip and pull-up: 350 lb. A rating well above what you lift today leaves room to grow; a rack without a stated rating is a question for the retailer.
The price differences also follow the steel. Rogue's pages list 11-gauge 2 x 3" uprights on the R-3; the Iron Factory spec lists 2" x 2" 16-gauge tube. Thicker steel (a lower gauge number) and bigger uprights weigh more, which the shipping weight column partly shows.
Rogue Canada prices are the first CA$ price on the page; colour and add-ons can change them, and Rogue ships from the United States with customs fees paid by Rogue, according to its banner. 5 of 8 pages stated a warranty; Rogue's warranty was not read from its pages, so its cells say "Not listed".
Prices
- Fitness Depot
- Price of the first option in the store's product feed. The weight is the shipping weight from that feed, not the weight of the item. Delivery: We did not find a shipping policy page on fitnessdepot.ca.
- Northern Fitness
- Price of the first option in the store's product feed; when a product has several options (weights, colours, add-ons), the range is shown under the price. The weight is the shipping weight from that feed, not the weight of the item. Delivery: Ships across Canada, with pickup in the GTA; its policy page gives 6 to 8 business days for small parcels and 8 to 10 for oversized freight.
- Costco.ca
- Price shown on the product page, read with a headless browser. When the product page showed no readable price, we used the price on the list tile, and the table says so. Delivery: The product pages said "unable to determine shipping availability" and "subject to some delivery restrictions, verify at checkout".
- Rogue Canada
- First CA$ price on the product page; options such as colour or add-ons can change it. Rogue warranties were not read from the page. Delivery: The site banner said "No Fees At Delivery! Ships from USA & Rogue Pays Customs Fees".
- Not read
- Walmart.ca (identity check page), Canadian Tire (HTTP 403) and bellsofsteel.ca (empty or 404) could not be read; Amazon.ca was not tried. Bells of Steel products appear here through Costco.ca.
